Keep and share the result of your research

The Discover France application allows you to map a wide range of indicators on diverse and varied themes. You can set display parameters: choice of area and displayed data, geographical selections and display customisation, etc. But what happens when you close the browser window? How do you return to the choices and selections that you have made at a later stage? The project saving function tracks any work carried out to date.

At each stage of my exploration I can save my project – in other words, I can give it a name so that I can retrieve it at a later stage or send it to my colleagues.

Each project is saved in an xml file which contains the various settings of my cartographic representation:
Cartographic representation definition: geographical level (for example, municipality), scale and zoom percentage
Mapped indicator(s) definition: very important indicator and theme (for example, migrations in 1999), less important indicator and theme (for example, proportion of farmers in the active population in 1999)
Geographical selections, using the mouse (for example, municipalities within a 30 km radius of Châtellerault) and/or using search criteria (for example, municipalities where the proportion of farmers is greater than 10%)
Printout customisation: title, comment and annotations.
